About
A regional economic development office funded by the companies it serves.
09.2
The structure
The people on our board run companies here.
This is a privately funded regional office rather than a municipal department with an economic development mandate attached to it. It is funded by the region’s employers, governed by them, and answerable to them.
When we tell you what the labour market is like, it is because the people hiring in it are in the room.

The promise
We answer our phones.
A large region gives you a portal and a queue. Here you get one economic development officer, one phone number, and a reply from a person, usually within a business day.
Companies choosing a site cannot wait a week for an answer, and they remember who made them wait.

The team
Who you will actually deal with.
Our economic development team is who you email. Gwen Reimer handles immigration and the community recommendation. The rest of the board runs companies in this region.

The region
Why we took a regional approach.
Southeast Manitoba, anchored by Steinbach and including the surrounding rural municipalities and communities.
The companies we serve work across the whole region. The feed comes from one municipality, the plant sits in another, the trucks are registered in a third, and the people drive between all of them. Working as one region, with Steinbach as its anchor, lets us serve all of it together and bring more investment to every community in it.
